Conversion tracking has a reputation for being fiddly: create a GA4 property, wire up enhanced ecommerce, define events, wait for data to populate, then argue with attribution windows. None of that is actually required to know how many people added to cart, reached checkout, and paid. WooCommerce already fires those events server-side; you just need something listening on your own site.
The three conversions every store should watch
Add to cart, checkout started, order completed. The ratios between them tell you where to spend effort: a healthy cart rate with a poor checkout rate is a checkout problem, not a traffic problem. You want raw counts and rates, not a sampled estimate.
Tracking custom actions without code
Beyond the purchase path, most stores have one or two actions worth counting: a “size guide” click, a wholesale enquiry form, a downloadable spec sheet. With GrowVia Goals you point at the element, page, form or download and it starts counting — no tag manager, no developer, and a completion trend chart appears next to your other reports automatically.
Seeing the whole path, not just the endpoints
Counts tell you how many; a funnel tells you where they went. Funnel Analytics shows product view → add to cart → checkout → purchase with the drop-off at each step and how long the people who converted took, so the fix has an address.
Why “without Google Analytics” is a feature
Everything above is recorded into your own WordPress database. There is no GA4 property to maintain, no consent relationship with Google to document, and no data threshold hiding your smallest segments. If you still need GA4 for ad audiences, GrowVia PRO can forward completed orders to it server-side — but your source of truth stays on your server.
